I’m in the process of doing a little review of my yearly goals so I thought I’d share my progress with you all. You can find my original post here, if you want to give that a read first.
I’ve reached my saving goal for this year! I am completely ecstatic about it and I’ll increase the goal as it was achieved so early.
It’s worth mentioning that I was able to do this mainly due to selling a LOT of my stuff… which we’ll come back to in a bit!
2 Progress with learning languages
I’ve put a measurable aspect into this goal. I’m using Duolingo, which gives you an estimated fluency percentage; it has proved to be quite controversial and not too accurate but I’m sticking with it currently. My aim is to get to 50% fluent in Danish and 40% in German by the end of the year. Right now I’m at 48% in Danish and 33% in German.
I only started Danish this year so am totally chuffed with how far I’ve come so far, yay!
3 Finish my current MBA module work
I’m just finishing module 5 out of 9 so this is definitely achievable for this year. The distance learning aspect of my MBA does make it difficult as it lowers the priority and with a lot of other projects up in the air at the moment, I’m prone to it taking a backseat. However, that being said, it is getting there and I’m trying to spend time on it each week.
4 Go somewhere new
I haven’t done this yet and am completely bogged with work and weddings for the next few months so I’m hoping to squeeze in a trip later in the year!
Holla at me with your recommendations… I’m thinking possibly Edinburgh, Milan or Zurich!
5 Be able to do a backward walkover
I am so determined to get this! If you’ve been following my fitness journey, you’ll know this is such a tough goal but will be so rewarding. My bridges are getting so much better and I’m gaining strength and flexibility each month, so hopefully it won’t be too long before I nail it!
6 Minimalise my belongings
My minimalism journey is pretty much complete I think. It took a LONG time. If you’re thinking of going down this route, be prepared for it to be a 3 month ish process.
Saying that, I’m now happy with my wardrobe and my house is so clear so it’s been completely worth it! There’s just a few items left that will be discarded when we move but that I’ll be keeping for now.
I’m pretty sure I’m on track and I’m super pleased with my money saving so far. I’m going to try to keep referring back to my goals throughout the year, in order to make any adjustments that are needed, or to add any new ones that pop up through the year!
